Two paintings by artist Nick Payne were selected by jurist, Michael Chesley Johnson, for the 29th Annual International Open Exhibit at the American Art Company in Tacoma, Washington. The International Open Exhibit runs from May 9 through June 20, 2015. The high quality of past exhibits have attracted many visitors. The current exhibit promises to be especially outstanding.

Two pastel paintings by Nick Payne will be on exhibit in the NPS Holiday Exhibition at the Schack Art Center in Everett, WA.

Two Paintings - 28th International Open Exhibit

Two pastel paintings by Nick Payne were selected by Jurist Maria Baggetta for the NPS 28th Annual International Open Exhibit.

"This is a highly competitive exhibit because national and international art professionals are invited to submit work to the jury for selection," Payne said. "I was very surprised and pleased to have two paintings selected. Unfortunately, I can't attend the opening, because I have another exhibit opening in Bellingham at the Lucia Douglas at the same time."

The opening reception will be June 21, from 2-4 pm at the American Art Company, 1126 Broadway, Tacoma, WA. The exhibit runs through August 4th.

The painting to the left, "Lake Padden - View Near the Scott Memorial Bench" is one of the two paintings on exhibit.

Three pastel paintings by Nick Payne were selected by Jurist Joe Garcia for the Peninsula Art League's 11th Annual Open Juried Exhibition.

This year's show features 90 artists from across the nation.

The show opens on August 30, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the Harbor History Museum, 4121 Harbor View Drive, Gig Harbor

Three Np Paintings In 15th Annual Expressions NW Juried Exhibit

Three of Nick Payne's paintings were chosen by jury for the 15th Annual Expressions Northwest Exhibit in Port Townsend, WA.

Juror, David Lynx, the Director of Larson Gallery on the campus of Yakima Valley Community College, chose 76 artworks from from 322 works of art submitted from Washington, Alaska, Oregon,Utah, Nebraska and British Columbia.

The chosen paintings are"The Matisse", "In the Conservatory: Second Center", and "Autumn Leaves". The exhibit in Port Townsend is located at

Nick Payne In 14th Annual Juried Maritime Art Exhibit

Nick Payne's pastel painting, "Beach Rocks 3", was selected for exhibit in the 14th Annual Juried Maritime Exhibit.

"When most people visit a beach on the Puget Sound, they can't resist picking up interesting beach rocks. I have the same impulse, only I might also use the rocks for making paintings," the artist said.

The exhibit at the Harbor History Museum is located at 4121 Harborview Drive, Gig Harbor. Normal museum hours are 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Sunday. The exhibit opens on July 20th, and closes August 25, 2013.

International Open Juried Exhibit

Nick Payne's painting "Water and Woodland" will be exhibited in the Northwest Pastel Society's 27th Annual International Open Art Exhibit. The public is invited to a reception at the American Art Company in Tacoma, WA on May 4, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The exhibit closes June 15, 2013

Visitors to the exhibit will see pastel paintings of the highest quality. Artists from the United States and from other countries were invited to enter paintings in the show. From among the many outstanding entries, juror Lorenzo Chavez selected the paintings for the exhibit. Lorenzo Chavez is a well-known artist featured in several artist's magazines, and the author of three books.

"It's a great honor to be included in an exhibit of international pastel artists," Nick Payne said. "I love working with pastel. It's so immediate, pure, and luminous."

Regional Artists Reception At The Jansen At Center

Three pastel paintings by Nick Payne were chosen for a group exhibit at the Jansen Art Center in Lynden, WA.

The paintings of 14 regional artists will be exhibited through the winter months. The exhibit closes March 25th. On Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30 PM enjoy live music in the Piano Lounge. Refreshments are available from the Cafe.
