This is one of my favorite paintings because the bright colors are outstanding and appeal to me.

Thank you, Janet. In the Pacific NW color is subdued, as you know, but the color complements of fallen leaves brighten each other. The Impressionists borrowed this concept from nature and very effectively used it to brighten their paintings.
